Demat Account related FAQs

How do I receive dividends to the bank and not a cheque? Is it possible to apply online?

You can receive dividends directly from your bank account by linking your demat account with your bank account .

You will need to contact your Demat service provider or DP in order to link the two accounts. Please contact your stockbroker if you have a demat account.

These are the steps you need to take to link your bank account and demat account.

  1. Contact your demat account provider (your broker or bank).
  2. You will be sent a PDF or an email request.
  3. Please provide information about your bank account and demat account.
  4. You must provide a canceled check from your bank account.
  5. These documents should be sent to your demat provider.

Once the information has been received, the information is automatically updated in the system within 2 days. Once your bank account has been linked to your demat account you will begin receiving dividends in your account.
